DOOH Tender by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL)

To gain more sponsorship and ad deals, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has recently released a tender for the installation of digital screens and related equipment. These screens will be utilized for audio-visual information and periodic broadcasts and advertisements. As per the tender, CMRL will implement this initiative for its 52 trains in CMRL Phase 1 and Phase 1 extensions sections.

These 52 trains will operate from Airport Metro to Wimco Nagar Metro, Chennai Central Metro to St. Thomas Mount Metro and their inter-corridor routes. Passengers will thus be able to view advertisements and valuable and route-related information during the course of their metro journey. CMRL has named the DOOH broadcasting system as RAVIS (Route Related Audio and Visual Information System).

CMRL published the tender on 13.03.2020 and it will remain open till 13.04.2020 to invite bidders. Since its inauguration, the CMRL has grown to be a pivotal rapid transit system serving Chennai and its suburbs. By providing a digital out-of-home advertising opportunity, the CMRL is opening the doors of elaborate branding and comprehensive broadcasting. Consequently, people from different parts of the city and across varying socio-economic backgrounds will now be in the exposure of thousands of brands. With the daily passenger traffic in the metros being 125,000 approximately, the DOOH media installation is a path-breaking initiative.
