Metro Station advertising is one of the most pivotal forms of branding in the urban and semi-urban areas of Chennai. The current statistic of daily ridership in the Chennai Metro stands at around 62 lakh passengers per day. This figure has the potential to increase by 5% to 8% with each passing month.
So, to make most of the opportunity of reaching out to the urban populace of Chennai, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is now introducing Metro Card for passengers. The cover of the card will have space for branding purposes. These cards will be functional in all 32 Metro stations in the city. Additionally, these will be multi-purpose cards. Passengers will be able to pay their Metro fare, parking fee, and also the Metro Feeder services through these new cards.
Purpose to introduce ad options on Chennai Metro Card –
CMRL will issue these new cards along with card covers for protection and for Non-Traditional advertisement. So, besides safeguarding the Metro Card, the new Metro Cards covers will also serve the purpose of branding. They will give the metro advertisers the opportunity to ensure that their brands get higher visibility and greater recall value.
