Are car advertisements on TV effective?

Given the volume of car dealer commercials, you must assume a useful level of RoI.

The alternative is ugly: stupid dealers throwing good money after bad.

How about asking how much car sales would decline if there was no advertising?

And how much could car prices decline?

Of course, the answers are staring us in the face. Auto sales is an extremely well-developed marketplace, including the commercials and promotions. So, YES, TV commercials and print ads are the backbone of automobile marketing. Apart from the creativity, these commercials are the primary way consumers learn to differentiate and ultimately choose the models of interest when search begins.
